Avalanche Danger Update

Northerly winds are actively and significantly loading leeward terrain. This will create new wind slabs, and further stress larger existing persistent slabs. Avalanche danger in Chugach State Park remains “considerable,” or at least on the dangerous end of the moderate spectrum. Don’t get caught off guard, or be fooled by the sunny weather.
