Life on #Earth: it can be a beautiful thing. Let’s make sure we do our part to expand the experience of that beauty, and ensure it’s around for future generations. #Climbing and #skiing around #Valdez, #Alaska can make one acutely aware of the precariousness of modern civilization as the sublimity of raw #wilderness (the basis of our existence) is juxtaposed with one of humanity’s dirtiest and most destructive ventures (that, in one of countless examples, toxified the majestic #PrinceWilliamSound almost 30 years ago). A reminder of that toxicity constantly lingers in the air around the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Terminal. Don’t believe the greedy status quo controllers of the Establishment: we are more than capable of transitioning to cleaner energy and a more harmonious economy. But, it won’t happen until #WeThePeople demand it. We climbed and skied Mt. Comstock today via the south #couloir. Our #snowpit and stability tests (ECT and several hand pits) yielded promising results: 3070’, NE aspect, 35* slope, 295cm HS, ECTX (see map for location). We experienced no red flags. The effects of strong east winds in the not so distant past are evident, but wind slabs generally seem to be bonding well and surface conditions have been refreshed with several inches of #pow in all but the most exposed areas. #GreenNewDeal #PostCapitalism #AlaskanOilForPublicWelfareNotPrivateProfit #SevenGenerations #Randoism #Fauxcaster #FromAlaskaToTheAmazonSaveTheRainforest
