Turnagain Arm – Bird Ridge:

Very prominent wind loading at upper Bird Ridge from the recent wind event. Stiff sastrugi on the ridge line. Observed a good size (D2) hard wind slab avalanche, most likely natural trigger, on the bowl on WNW aspect right below the normal turnaround point for the mountain race. It had propagated all along the northwest minor ridge line and debris had run down into the prominent gully below.
